About AB&T
AB&T has its roots in the 1920's with the birth of commercial radio in the Great Depression when the first public radio station broadcast to an audience of radio listeners. That’s when the Tydings Electronics company was formed to sell and distribute radio parts becoming the largest electronics parts distributor east of the Mississippi.
Over the decades Tydings Electronics expanded, diversified into new technologies and in the late 90's now known as AB&T, the company launched into telecommunications services focusing on the VAR space. In 1998 AB&T introduced Qwest Prepaid Long Distance Calling Cards through retailers like Circuit City, CompUSA and SuperValue Grocery Stores
Ultimately AB&T introduced telecom services not through retailers, but instead through the VAR, and later the telecom agent "channel" as a natural extension of our experience selling computer products through VAR's and System Integrators. Now AB&T Telecom is one of the largest telecom master agencies in the country with over 500 resellers nationwide with a diverse portfolio of carriers and service providers as well as AB&T private label services.
